Nico Brooks
Nico Brooks has twelve years’ experience in web development, online advertising and search engine marketing. As a partner in Two Octobers, Nico works with advertisers, publishers and agencies to develop and implement online marketing strategies. He most recently worked as VP Strategy and Advertising for Local Matters, Inc. Before that he oversaw search engine marketing for Atlas/Microsoft. Prior to that, he managed the development of the first toolset for automated management of search marketing (SEM), Go Toast, and helped launch one of the first SEM agencies, eonMedia.
Highlights from Nico’s marketing and publishing experience include:
- Managed website development and operations for several dozen local and national business, including Corporate Express and Cyberrebate.com.
- Provided optimization and best-practices consulting to numerous interactive agencies, including Mindshare (Ogilvy), Carat Interactive, Starcomm/Mediavest and Avenue A/Razorfish.
- Managed SEM services for a variety of clients, including Travelworm (hotels), AllAboardToys.com, Areaguides.net and Yellow Pages New Zealand.
- Provided SEO consulting services to leading local media publishers including Guidespot.com, YPG New Zealand, European Directories and Truvo.
- Published research and articles on consumer search behavior and spoken at conferences such as SES, AD:TECH, and Pubcon.
Nico Brooks has lived in Denver and Boulder for about 15 years, with a short stint in Yorkshire, England. Nico is passionate about efficiency, collaboration, and local business. He is also kind of nutty about data. Nico’s colleagues have praised his “ability to understand the customers’ strategic marketing drivers and turn those into tactical campaigns” and “’can do’ mentality”.
