Job Description

The Marketing Data Analyst Apprentice supports our delivery of digital marketing services while getting hands-on training that layslaying the foundation for growing skill sets with a future career in digital marketing. Apprentices work under experienced practitioners executing tasks, including data analysis and interpretation, reporting, and Google Analytics implementation and troubleshooting, and administrative support.

Our goal with every client is to demonstrate that digital marketing is having a real business impact. As an apprentice in the organization, you are expected to actively apply your curiosity, analytical skills, and attention to detail to uncover insights, continuously learning in order to support data-driven marketing strategies.

Who this apprenticeship is for:

This apprenticeship is designed for people who are curious, motivated, and ready to grow in a structured, hands-on environment. While you do not need a specific degree or past job title, you should already have experience with office work, spreadsheets, project management tools, and technical problem solving. Candidates can meet these expectations through past work, school projects, personal projects, or self-directed learning. This is a fast paced, one-year-long program that blends technical skills, real client work, and ongoing training and feedback; you will be supported by team members throughout the process to build confidence and develop skills quickly.

The right person for this apprenticeship wants a long-term career in digital marketing and is prepared for a challenging and rewarding learning journey.

  • Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets experience is required. You will be working in spreadsheets from the first week, and a baseline understanding of formulas, formatting, and data organization is necessary for success.
  • Technical problem solving experience is required. This can come from work, school, or personal experimentation.
  • Experience navigating common office workflows and tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with project management or collaboration tools.
  • Coding experience will be considered as a demonstration of technical problem solving.
  • Has an interest in digital tools and technology. You are curious about how websites track data or how online platforms measure performance. Exposure to digital marketing concepts, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, or website technologies like HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a plus, but self-taught exploration or curiosity counts too.

Primary Job Responsibilities

The Marketing Data Analyst Apprentice is introduced to and trained in various skills to support the day-to-day management of digital marketing projects at Two Octobers:

  • Support workflows through recurring administrative and reporting tasks to assist service delivery and company operations.
  • Complete apprenticeship related instruction:
    • Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate
    • Google Analytics Certification
    • Advanced Spreadsheet Techniques
    • Any other related instruction defined during apprenticeship training.
  • Structured Problem Solving and Investigating
    • Apply structured problem-solving to define and investigate questions, using methodical research and self-directed learning tools, while documenting workflows and insights for clear communication and repeatability.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation
    • Build and apply foundational data analysis skills, using spreadsheets and AI tools to clean, interpret, and summarize datasets with descriptive statistics, linking insights to business goals.
  • Reporting and Visualization: 
    • Assist in the creation of clear reports and interactive dashboards using tools like Google Looker Studio and Google Sheets to communicate performance trends and insights to stakeholders.
  • Google Analytics Implementation and Troubleshooting: 
    • Assist in setting up, auditing, and troubleshooting Google Analytics (GA4) tracking and events, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Marketing Metrics and Campaign Analysis: 
    • Learn how to analyze marketing campaign performance across channels by calculating key metrics and providing data-driven insights and recommendations for optimization.

Work Environment

This role is an in-person position based in our Denver, CO office. Candidates must be able to work on site during standard office hours Monday through Friday.

Compensation

Starting annual salary of $42,000, with scheduled pay increases tied to defined program milestones as part of a registered apprenticeship program

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, compensation increases to $52,250.
