Certified B Corporation

We’re a B Corp Marketing Agency

Marketing performance and purpose belong in the same agency. Your agency should be accountable for more than their bottom line.

Let’s Talk

More Than Marketing

Sure, we’re a team of experts in digital marketing. Naturally, we help businesses achieve extraordinary results through marketing analytics, SEO/AEO and content, and paid media. But we’re really here to help make the world a better place.

What Is B Corp Certification?

B Corp is a rigorous, business-wide certification program that unites businesses who strive to make an impact through purpose, people, and planet. The community of B Corps is aligned around the goal of redefining success in business, encompassing not just financial success but impact to all our stakeholders: employees, customers, our community, and the environment.

Our Registered Apprenticeship

At Two Octobers, dozens of business practices are behind our certification, but we’re most proud of our Registered Apprenticeship in digital marketing.

The marketing and advertising industry isn’t very diverse. Barriers to entry—like previous experience and college degrees—don’t have to be the norm. We built a Registered Apprenticeship in digital marketing to create a pathway to well-paying, in-demand careers. Join us by hiring a digital marketing apprentice at your company.

Why Hire a B Corp Marketing Agency?

Values alignment that shows up in the work

We put our heads and hearts into working with ESG-focused, purpose-driven brands and nonprofits. When your agency shares your values, the strategy, messaging, and measurement all land closer to the mark.

care about your work

A team that’s genuinely engaged in your work

Employees are drawn to B Corps because certification is external validation that the culture is what the company says it is. That translates into people who are motivated to do their best work for you.

Business-wide standards, not just marketing ones

B Corp certification requires ongoing measurement across community impact, worker practices, and environmental responsibility. The same rigor we apply to running our business is the rigor we bring to running your marketing.

How B Corp Status Shapes Our Client Relationships

We’re collaborative

Traditional client-agency relationships focus on outputs. We help clients create blended in-house and out-of-house teams that collaborate to generate better business results. What’s more, we built a one-on-one training service to grow in-house knowledge in digital marketing. Our always-be-educating approach makes your team smarter.

We consider ethics

Not all decisions are best for all companies. We consider the broader impact of our technology use and our decisions, making recommendations that put ethics first: preserving privacy in tracking and advertising; considering the tech & human costs of AI; and not promoting growth above other human and societal costs.

B Corp Marketing Agencies, Explained

What is a B Corp?

B Corps are businesses that meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

There are over 6,500 Certified B Corporations from more than 160 industries and 90 countries with one unifying goal: to redefine success in business. B Corps are leaders of a global movement of people using business as a force for good. Certified B Corporations amend their governance so that, by law, they can make decisions and implement practices that consider not just shareholder value, but the impact on all stakeholders—employees, customers, society, and the environment. The B Corp community works toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose. B Corp certification is a high bar. Companies must document their positive impact to qualify and undergo verification every three years to maintain their Certification.

How are B Corp marketing agencies different from other marketing agencies?

  • B Corp marketing agencies have gone through certification through B Lab, evaluating their business practices in seven areas: Purpose & Stakeholder Governance; Fair Work; Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion; Human Rights; Climate Action; Environmental Stewardship & Circularity; and Government Affairs & Collective Action.
  • B Corp certification doesn’t evaluate marketing chops. But it does evaluate the company against standards across all of its business. Values-oriented businesses benefit from having aligned external team members and vendors.

Why Two Octobers Became a B Corp

Two Octobers was founded in 2010 with a desire to be a great place to work: where workers could do their best work and where we were really making an impact on the businesses and non-profits we’re serving. When we discovered B Corp certification, it seemed like a great way to prove to the world that we do what we say we do. Being a B Corp has been more beneficial than we imagined.

01

Employee Engagement

Everybody in the organization was part of the process of becoming certified as a B Corp, and as a result learned how they could influence the business in ways that mattered to them personally. The organization as a whole is now more engaged in what else we can do to have an impact in our community and in our industry.

02

Community

We’re grateful to be connected with the community of like-minded people who are using business as a force for good.

03

Inspiration

Being a B Corp inspired us to think bigger. Instead of just thinking about how to improve our business for our team members and people we work with directly, we started thinking about how we could be a part in solving societal problems. This bigger-picture thinking inspired our digital marketing apprenticeship, a program we developed after initial B Corp certification.
